I'm getting my life back
4 years and a half years. That's how long I have waited for this day. 4 and a half freaking years. I can't shut up about it and I can't stop smiling! In many ways, that's not a long span of time but the content of what I've missed over the past few years is tremendous. 4 and a half years ago, I started my first job after leaving my husband of 12 years with our 4 children. I was previously a homeschooling mom and available to my family 24/7. I had to renter the workforce and my first job was at Starbucks. Retail hours suck and i worked many nights, weekends and holidays. There were times where my shift started so early that I had to get up at 4 am, so I was occasionally in bed before my oldest two children. I have worked nearly every Saturday for 4 and a half years. I missed a lot. My parents picked up a lot of my slack, as did many of my dear friends but I was absent too often. I was making a living for us. I was providing, but my absence was felt b...
